This spring, CAP has instituted its first Undergraduate Internship Program. We plan to hold one intern in the Spring, Summer, and Fall to help with various aspects of Campus Archaeology. Interns will be expected to carry out various duties, which include taking part in archaeological excavations, participating in historical research, cleaning and cataloguing artifacts, public outreach, and the publication and presentation of findings. Interns will be expected to participate in the Undergraduate Research Symposium, and will present on a research project decided on by the Intern and the Staff. The Internship also has a course-related component; students will enroll in Internship credits through the College of Social Science.

To get an idea as to what the experience is like, please visit our Campus Archaeology Intern Blog, maintained by the interns themselves.

The applicant must be in good academic standing att Michigan State University, and must have taken part in an Archaeological Field School. Anthropology majors are preferred, but not required. The position will require 5-10 hours per week. Interns do have the possibility of carrying over into the following semester, however applications are always being accepted.
