The Campus Archaeology Program has had the good fortune of being able to work with a number of different undergraduate and graduate student researchers. This has provided us with the opportunity to carry out research beyond the basic information we gather from our excavations sites, while also educating undergraduate students about research methods, and providing advanced research opportunities for graduate students. This week, Grace Krause, a first-year Anthropology graduate student, will begin posting on her research project with Campus Archaeology. Grace has a particular interest in the archaeology of food, learning about past human behavior through what and how they eat. Grace’s research will examine the eating habits, particularly the way the food was disposed of, in a study of historic campus sustainability. She will be posting regularly as her research progresses!
